Kidnapped Teen Regains Freedom After Two Years in Captivity
A young boy identified as Ogbu Anthony Ifeanyi has reportedly regained his freedom after spending two years in captivity.
According to accounts shared by individuals who encountered him, the boy boarded a vehicle heading to Kenyi, a town along the Kwoi–Abuja Road in Kaduna State, where he narrated his ordeal to fellow passengers.
He disclosed that he was kidnapped two years ago alongside his father and siblings. Tragically, he said his father and elder brother were killed during the period of captivity.
On Saturday, he was reportedly released by his captors and allowed to leave.
Details surrounding the circumstances of his release remain unclear at the time of reporting. It is also not yet confirmed whether security agencies were involved in securing his freedom or if ransom was paid.
The incident highlights the continuing security challenges along parts of Kaduna State and surrounding highways, where cases of abduction have been reported over the years.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the case.
